Genny, 31 — In Transition
COO of BLUE Institute
I plan training programs for political campaign staffers of color. I travel across the South and Southwest part of the US hosting trainings to inspire more people to lead in these political efforts. I’m obsessed with dancing bachata and salsa! I spend the rest of my free time volunteering with the Latin American Association, GALEO and LEAD Atlanta.
Berry College — BS Sociology (2008); The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration — AM Degree in Social Work (2010)
Who Am I?
My friends from High School would probably describe me as loud and funny!
The last TV Show I watched was Younger.
The funniest thing that happened to me recently was not believing anything was going to happen during Hurricane Irma and having no candles. I had to make tuna in the dark for my friends for dinner. No light but it came out good.
I got paid $5.15/hour as a receptionist at Great Clips.
In my free time, my friends would be surprised to learn that I enjoy sitting in silence.
The most “Atlanta” thing I’ve done in the past month was sitting in traffic.
In 10 years my dream job would be an Emcee at large events.
